Who are the Committee?
The role of the Civilian Committee
within the Squadron is to support the Squadron Commanding Officer
and staff in implementing Air Cadet Organisation policies, working
in partnership to ensure that all the Squadron's cadets benefit from
the many opportunities available to them. The well being of the
cadets is our common goal. While the Squadron Commander is
responsible for commanding the Squadron, we as the Civilian
Committee act, principally, as fund raisers to enable the cadets to
take part in all the Squadron's activities.
The Civilian Committee consists of the
Chair, Honorary Treasurer, Honorary Secretary and other members,
some of whom are responsible for areas such as fund raising, press
and media and so on. The three principle officers of the Committee
(Chair, Treasurer and Secretary) are elected annually by the
Committee.
I am sure you will appreciate the importance of
the Civilian Committee to the life - and, indeed, the survival! - of
2200 Squadron. The Committee consists of parents of squadron cadets,
parents of ex-cadets and other members of the community, as well as
two representatives from other organisations (RAFA and the British
Legion). We welcome any approach from individuals who feel they have
something to offer as a Committee member - even if it is to
volunteer to man a stall at one of the Squadron's Open Days or other
fund raising events.
If you would like
to know more about the role of the Committee in general, or your
possible involvement in it in particular, please e-mail us at
oc@2200atc.org.uk, with a
contact telephone number if possible, and we'll do our best to
answer any questions you may have. |
