Who We Are and What We Do

 

 

 

Flight Lieutenant Mike Holroyd RAF VR(t)

Officer Commanding 2200 (Oldham) Squadron Air Training Corps

As Commanding Officer of the Squadron Flt Lt Holroyd is responsible for the cadets and staff overall. He is the person responsible for appointing Cadet NCO's (up to Flight Sergeant) and makes sure he knows the cadets on Squadron.  As an officer in the RAF VRt Flt Lt Holroyd has attended a number of camps with cadets including one to RAF Kinloss recently, he is also qualified to run a rifle range and covers the Adventure Training on the Sqadron.

 

Warrent Officer (ATC) Ken Duffy

WO Duffy is responsible overall for Drill, Dress and Discipline on the Squadron.   He is also the stores Quartemaster and is responsible for ordering uniforms for new cadets as they join.  WO Duffy spent time at Oldham Squadron as a cadet before joining the RAF as a fireman and eventually came back when he had retired from the RAF as an Adult Warrent Officer.

 

 

Sergeant (ATC) Kirstyanne Sharkey-Daly

As a Civilian Instructor on the Squadron Miss Sharkey-Daly is responsible for the training of cadets and making sure the Training Programme is up to date.  She is also responsible for the administration on a day to day basis and is First Aid Qualified.  Miss Sharkey-Daly has been with the Squadron for around six years now and is in the process of applying for Adult SNCO.

 

 

Civilian Instructor Caroline Harrington

As a Civilian Instructor on the Squadron Miss Harrington is responsible for the Sports and also Duke of Edinburgh Award at all levels for our cadets.  Miss Harrington has recently had her appointment confirmed as a CI with cadets.

 

 

Civilian Instructor Squadron Leader Rob Knotts (retired)

As a Civilian Instructor on the Squadron Mr Knotts is responsible for the training of Senior and Staff Subjects such as Propulsion and Air Frames.  Mr Knotts spent some time in the RAF working his way through the ranks from an apprentice up to Squadron Leader.  Mr Knotts is the newest member of staff on the Squadron.
